“I must admit, Data, I never get used to seeing you like this.”
“I do not understand. You are constantly working on similar electronic systems, yet their appearances do not disturb you.”
“But you’re not just another electronic system.”
“Thank you, Geordi. Nor are you just another biological organism.”
GEORDI: Data?
DATA: Yes?
GEORDI: What happened?
DATA: Any answer would be mere speculation. This is yet another example of how our actions have random results.
GEORDI: …Thanks, Data. I noticed.

I want to cry every time I see this. That’s Deforest Kelley and Brent Spiner, aka Bones and Data, in the pilot episode of The Next Generation. He lovingly makes fun of Vulcans, being old, and then says that the new Enterprise has the right name, and to treat the ship right, like a lady, and that she’ll always bring you home. He’s an Admiral, and refuses to take transporter beams. He’s also 137 years old.

I cried during this part and my husband was like … >_> <_<
Metathesis is one of the most common of pronunciation errors.
Poor Barclay.
I’ve drawn like three pieces of fanart in my life
UNLESS YOU COUNT ALL THE ELFQUEST FAN CHARACTERS FROM MIDDLE SCHOOLbut man, all I’ve been wanting to do lately is draw TNG.This used to be post-it doodle. Thanks for popping my Trek fanart cherry, Data, you precious motherfucker.
This is seriously gorgeous!

Barclay: WE SHOULD WRITE A NOVEL
Data: A ROMANTIC novel!
Barclay: With swordfighting!
Data: And cats!
I’d read the FUCK out of thatAlso there’s a TNG novel where Data is trying to write an epic romance and he chases people and reads parts of his novel to them and it’s awful. I really want to read iteven though I’m 98% sure there’s no Barclay.
1: i’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that part of me ships this for some reason as yet undetermined
2: LDKJHLGHL WHAT NOVEL IS THIS.
Ode to Spot | Data
Felis catus is your taxonomic nomenclature,
An endothermic quadruped, carnivorous by nature;
Your visual, olfactory, and auditory senses
Contribute to your hunting skills and natural defenses.I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,
A singular development of cat communications
That obviates your basic hedonistic predilection
For a rhythmic stroking of your fur to demonstrate affection.A tail is quite essential for your acrobatic talents;
You would not be so agile if you lacked its counterbalance.
And when not being utilized to aid in locomotion,
It often serves to illustrate the state of your emotion.O Spot, the complex levels of behavior you display
Connote a fairly well-developed cognitive array.
And though you are not sentient, Spot, and do not comprehend,
I nonetheless consider you a true and valued friend.Mmm..data’s hands.
Captain, there appears to be a problem with the transporter system. It seems every time substance is beamed through, it replicates, much like our current food systems. Geordi attempted to fix the error, and I allowed myself to be beamed throughout the ship to see if the error was properly fixed. However, it seemed to not be corrected and instead multiplied my body exponentially by F of X being equal to two to the raised power of X. Geordi and I were unaware that there was such a reaction taking place, and continued to use my body in the trial-and-error experime—-
Thank you, Data. That will be enough.
the title is the best part
Just bringing this to your attention.
THIS IS THE BEST PICTURE EVER.
I want to ship this, somehow
“Several episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation were set on the ship’s holodeck, a large room that generated realistic fantasy locales. Crew members dressed in period clothing and played out storybook scenarios. In the episode “A Fistful of Datas” Worf, Troi, and Alexander became gunslingers in the Ancient West. In “The Big Goodbye,” Picard, Crusher, and Data played detectives in the 1940s.
In the 1990s Playmates Toys produced action figures based on these episodes.”GIVE ME THESE!!!
Sheriff Worf and Deputy Alexander action figures exist?
WANT.
ALEXANDER~
“A Fistful of Datas”, omg that episode was RIDICULOUS. Everything was so hilariously bad except for Brent Spiner. And and and spoiler alert the best fucking part was the very end when Data’s brain interferes with the holodeck one last time and we see him as a prostitute in a pink dress and he comes this close to kissing Worf but TPTB decided to fail miserably and not let it happen ffffff
AJGFDHGDFJSHF IF THEY MADE AN ACTION FIGURE OF PROSTITUTE!DATA I WOULD BE ALL OVER THAT
